Happy New Year's Eve everyone! This year has been hands down the most jam-packed year of my life. From graduating school, to trips across the country, to getting engaged (!!!), I can say with certainty that 2016 has given me more than any other year of my life. Here are my all-time favorite memories from each month:
January- Spending last NYE with Hayes and our closest friends in New Orleans and watching Ole Miss win the Sugar Bowl against OK State.
February- Attending my first New York Fashion Week with my photographing bestie Layne Little.
March- Spring Break at home with some of my closest friends (check out my model bestie Taylor and fellow blogger Sarah) and Hayes.
My first time attending NYFW (it also happened to be the coldest one on record. Of course). Photo: Layne Little
April- Getting engaged to my best friend in the entire world.
May- Graduating with a b.a. in Journalism and Italian Language from heaven on earth aka Ole Miss.
June- Starting my first ever career-motivated job at Z SUPPLY as the Social Media Coordinator for five brands.
July- Grilling out with my parents and Hayes on the boat on the Fourth of July and swimming to and from boats in the bay.
August- A quiet 22nd birthday celebration and moving my baby sister out to DC for her freshman year of college at George Washington University.
September- My second time attending New York Fashion Week, but this time working it at the Lulu's Style Studio with one of the Z SUPPLY brands.
I love to joke with my sister that I am going to move to DC and stalk her.
October- My in-laws came to Newport for the first time and we had the best time showing them around.
November- Thanksgiving this year was especially fun because we had so many friends and families over. We also have this really fun tradition of playing mini golf in our neighborhood while the turkey is still in the oven.
December- Hayes' parents and sisters came out again the week before Christmas and we exchanged gifts with them. My family also had an awesome Christmas together where Hayes TOTALLY surprised me with a trip to San Francisco!
So, what does 2017 have in store for our travels? Well, we will start in in San Francisco and hopefully end it somewhere fun! In between, we'll be getting married in Oxford MS, honeymooning in some corner of Europe (current honeymoon destination frontrunner: Windstar Cruise around Italy, Croatia, and Montenegro), Vegas for work once or twice, attending the weddings of some of our closest friends and one of my blogger besties (check out their engagement video here) in Nashville and Tulum, my bachelorette party somewhere like San Francisco or San Diego, Hayes' bachelor party in Colorado, hopefully making a few trips back to Oxford and DC, and fingers crossed I find the time between all of this to get to New York Fashion Week a few more times and take Hayes along with me for the ride.
This year has been extremely good to us, but I have a feeling 2017 is going to be even more epic. I have a few simple resolutions: eat better, be more, try new things. Vague they may be, but I can apply them to anywhere in my life. What new year resolutions do you have going for 2017? Anything you are looking forward to? Let me know in the comments below, I'd love to hear!
