Hi everybody!! Thanks so much for DMing me some questions for my Q+A. I got some pretty awesome questions so I'm pretty excited to get started. Those who know me know I am basically an open book, so there is (almost) nothing I won't answer, but I only chose a handful of questions for length purposes. If you ever have questions about anything at all, feel free to message me on any of my social platforms or contact me via email!
Let's get started, shall we?
Shelby asked me: Where did you get your plates that you used for your wedding reception? Is there going to be a wedding post?
It's a funny story actually.... I was DEAD SET on using blue and white china but all mix matched. The rental company we used only had a certain amount but it wasn't enough for all of our guests. So my mom sent out a memo to her friends across the country who were attending the wedding and said if they find any antique blue and white china for a reasonable price, she would pay for it and ship them to Oxford for the wedding. And that is how we got all the incredible dishware! The best part is I kept some of my favorite dishes that we got. One day when Hayes and I have our own family over for holidays and big occasions, we can use the plates from our big day.
As for a wedding post, I've decided to release the photos slowly and do a massive one year of marriage recap on our first wedding anniversary with my favorite photos including the prints from the disposable cameras we put at every table. So you'll have to wait a bit to see all the photos!
Kelly asked me: Who designed your wedding dress?
My dress was designed by Liancarlo. Because we got married on a beautiful flower and veggie farm, I went for a garden party vibe for our wedding and I really wanted my dress to reflect that. It had floral applique all over it and tasteful rhinestoning- just enough to add a litttttle sparkle. I added a satin bow around the waist for an extra sweet touch.
Nicole M. asked me: What sorority were you in at Ole Miss?
Kappa Delta, baby!!!! AOT
Joanna asked me: Solo travel advice for girls?
My first big piece of advice is research the living you-know-what out of your destination. My second piece of advice, and it sounds obvious, is be stoked about where you are going. Example, I wanted to go to Prague when I was studying in Florence because plane tickets that weekend were pretty cheap and that was basically my only reason. So I went without doing much research and to be honest, wasn't super psyched about being there. I ended up bumping around town, not prepared for the heat, the crowds, and without any plans. It resulted in me not loving Prague, which happens to be like everyone's favorite city but mine. On the other hand, I also planned a quick trip to Edinburgh, Scotland, planned the s*** out of that trip and was STOKED to go. I basically was in tears when I left.
Moral of the story: Have a plan, research your destination thoroughly, and be excited!
Tracy asked me: Where do you shop?
I'm big into buying my clothes on a budget and my shoes, jewelry, and handbags from luxury boutiques. So for clothing, I love Zara, Free People, Topshop, Vici, Old Navy, Target's Who What Wear collection, J. Crew, and Madewell.
For my handbags, I'm a Gucci girl, but I also love Mark Cross, Saint Laurent, and Louis Vuitton. For shoes, I love Chanel, Gucci, and Balenciaga boots. I'm a big Zoe Chicco, Jacquie Aiche, and Gigi Clozeau fan for jewelry.
Marisa asked me: Any travel plans?
Hayes and I talk about this a lot! We have a long list of places to see together, but at the top of our list right now is Japan to see the cherry blossoms or sailing around the Dalmatian Islands in Croatia and down through Montenegro! As for a girls trip, me and my bestie Layne want to go to Scotland together next fall. I also want to go see my baby sis in DC!
Erin asked me: What is your skin care regimen?
I am constantly changing up my skin care but I am a big Mario Badescu fan. So I usually use his Orange Cream Cleanser with my Clarisonic or Glycolic Foaming Cleanser. Then I use his Vitamin C serum and his aloe vera moisturizer. Super easy and effective.
Ali asked me: How often do you wear hair extensions?
As of lately, never. In my recent hair appointments, my hairdresser told me my extensions were breaking my hair from wearing them so often so I'm giving my hair a break! Plus my hair is really long right now so I'm putting my extensions in retirement for the time being :)
Lexi asked me: What are your favorite shoes in your closet?
Oh goodness, ALL OF THEM! No but really, I have my Balenciaga booties and my Gucci slides on rotation right now. Can't stop wearing them!
Kaitlyn asked me: How do you afford to blog full time?
The answer: I don't! Blogging isn't my full-time gig. I work in luxury retail as a client stylist. California is far too expensive for me to give up working, but I wouldn't want to give up my job, I really love it!
Sara asked me: What is the most exciting blog collaboration you've done?
I really try to curate my collabs to be very on brand, so every collab I do is exciting! But I have to say, my collaboration with Windstar cruises was pretty freakin' awesome. I also loved working with Drybar, Coach, and L'Occitane!
Paige asked me: What did your husband say when you got bangs?
