Hey everybody! Wow, it's been a hot minute since I sat down to write a post on here. I've been insanely busy with my new (and absolutely kickass) new travel blog The Pacific Edit (pretty please check it out and share. It would be the absolute most to me and I'll repay you in my never ending love and gratitude) and just working my behind off before we leave for Mexico in two months! Speaking of Mexico, if you follow me on Instagram, you have probably seen me absolutely blow up my stories with posts on BoxHaus. It is no secret that I absolutely love this workout because of the awesome instructors, fun music, and Soul Cycle-like cult following. Boxing is famous for building strong and sleek bodies in a super short amount of time which makes it the perfect way for me to tone up fast before Hayes and I leave on our anniversary trip in two short months (from today!). So without further adieu, here is my ONE MONTH PROGRESS PICTURE! Ta-daaaaaa!
Okay, before you're all up in my DMs telling me you don't see a big difference, I KNOW THAT ALREADY. But put it this way: I've only taken twelve of these classes..... twelve. My tummy and waistline is tightening up and my booty is getting seriously lifted from the millions of squats I'm doing in class. I am seriously so motivated and I am only one month in out of three. So, stoked is an understatement. I haven't even changed up my diet that much, I've jsut showed up for class ready to work. Speaking of class, let me take you through what the average BH class is like.
You start off the class with a strong HIIT warm up. Jumping jacks, mountain climbers, squats, lunges, the works. Then you glove up, and go through six rounds of punching sequences, aka extreme cardio. I am not a big sweater but dayummm let me tell you, I am dripping in sweat half way through. After you finish all six rounds, you have a seriously gnarly ab sequence/cool down stretch. My abs are shaking afterward, which is exactly what I want. I'm literally in there doing hip touch planks squeezing my eyes shut and being like, "bikini bod in 90 days, bikini bod in 90 days, bikini bod in 90 days....." and so far, I am pretty impressed with my progress!
Going forward, I think I am going to try and add one or two more days of at home work out in as well as cleaning up my diet a bit. Will I be giving up alcohol? Hell no. But I am currently trying to cut down on gluten and up my veggie and lean protein intake. Swapping my croissant in the morning for gluten free avo toast with a soft boil egg (um yeah, it's soooo bomb). I'm also really trying to start snacking smart on things like dried fruit (soft and juicy dried mango from Trade Joe's is my shiznit), gluten free pretzels, and cutie oranges instead of left over donuts at work. I can't believe I am one of those people who is now considering gluten free pretzels an exciting snack but after seeing and feeling the progress in my body, I am all for giving up some donuts (but def not my cocktails. Too far).
Any OC babes (or guys!) out there want to come to a class with me?! DM me on Instagram and let's go together!
